Professional Female Photographer
Hi, I'm Siorna
I’m a professional female photographer specialising in artistic, consent-led boudoir photography in London for women who want to choose how they’re seen, on their own terms.
My work is especially for people who do not feel naturally confident in front of the camera. Together, we create portraits that feel beautiful, grounded, and recognisably you.
I also photograph headshots, portraits, and maternity, bringing the same thoughtful approach to every session.
Photography that feels different
Boudoir can mean many things, but my approach is less about performing to someone else’s gaze and more about creating photographs that feel honest, artful, and fully your own.
My sessions are collaborative and client-led, shaped around your comfort, taste, and sense of self rather than a fixed idea of what boudoir should look like. How you feel in the room matters just as much as the final image.
As someone who has struggled with body image myself, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to step in front of the lens.
I bring empathy, technical skill, and calm direction to every session, using light, posing, and conversation to create portraits that feel like you, rather than a role you have been asked to play.
Nervous in front of the camera?
Many of my clients arrive saying they’ve never liked being photographed.
Some are nervous. Some are rebuilding confidence. Some want photographs that finally feel like them.
I’ve created a space where you can feel comfortable, safe, and quietly powerful, whether we’re capturing bold boudoir portraits, professional headshots, or maternity images.

Award-Winning Photography
In 2025, I received the Client Service Excellence Award at the Greater London Enterprise Awards, recognising my work for exceptional client care.
My work has also been featured in The Telegraph, in national coverage exploring confidence, self-image, and photography in midlife.
From Museums to Photography
Before becoming a professional photographer, I studied Ancient History at Durham with a Masters in Museum Studies, later working at a number of museums including the British Museum.
Years spent looking closely at art, objects, and visual culture gave me a lasting interest in representation, meaning, and the stories images tell about us.
That background still shapes the way I photograph today.
Teaching Photography
Alongside my studio work, I teach photography with a focus on artistry, ethics, and consent-led practice.
At City Academy, I lead the Art Nude Photography Course, and since 2020 I’ve also taught over 150 military veterans through Help for Heroes, using photography to support confidence and connection.
You can read more about me as a City Academy Tutor from their website: City Academy Tutor Siorna Ashby

A Little About Me Beyond Photography
Outside the studio, I love travel, cooking, and learning Japanese.
At the moment, I’m especially drawn to Korean cuisine, and I rarely go anywhere without a camera.
That curiosity about people, places, and visual detail always finds its way back into my studio work.
