Creating a Pinterest Mood Board for your photoshoot is my top tip for success!

When you book a boudoir or a creative portrait photoshoot with me I set this fun homework!

Here are a few thoughts on how to make a Pinterest mood board for your photoshoot and how it will help you.

What Is A Pinterest Mood Board?

A Pinterest mood board is a collection of images you “pin” to your digital board on Pinterest. It’s a way for us both to see what kind of images inspire you.

How a Pinterest Mood Board Helps You.

When you place photographs together it reveals all sorts of preferences you didn’t know you had, like:

  • What poses do you like?
  • Do you like black and white over colour?
  • Do you like dark and moody or light and airy?
  • Are you professional or relaxed?
  • What nudity levels are you comfortable with (for my boudoir clients!)?

How To Create A Pinterest Mood Board.

First, download the Pinterest app onto your phone.

Once you have an account go into the app and tap the “+” sign at the bottom of the home screen.

A window will open asking you to create an Idea Pin, Pin or Board.

Choose “Board”.

It will then ask you to name your board. Type in something like “Boudoir Mood Board | [Your name]” or “Creative Portrait [Your name].

You have the option to keep this board secret so only you can see it. If you want that then tap the toggle and it will shift to the right.

Tap the red “Create” button in the upper right corner.

You did it!

For a creative portrait type “creative portraits” into the field and hit “Search”.

A selection of images will appear.

You can scroll through these and if you find something you like just tap on it to select it.

It will give you the option then, to Visit or Save — select Save.

Select the mood board you just created from your list of boards.

Once you’ve selected which board to save it to a message will appear informing you that the image was saved.
